Keith Snell began teaching pianowhen he was fifteen years old underthe guidance of his piano teachermother, Carol Snell. Since that time,he has maintained an independentpiano studio because of his passionfor teaching. His students range fromadvanced high school students whowill be music majors, to typical young beginners who willhave a lifetime of music enjoyment.Co-author of Piano Town and the highly acclaimedFundamentals of Piano Theory, Keith is also well-known topiano teachers as editor of Piano Repertoire, the MasterComposer 

Library, and producer of the recordings for eachseries. He has shared his insights about piano teaching inworkshops and master classes throughout the UnitedStates and abroad.A successful performing career began for Keith after hewon the Joanna Hodges International Piano Competition,which provided his London debut in 1984. He subsequentlysigned with Columbia Artist Management and recorded forVirgin Records.Keith received Bachelor and Master of Music degrees inPiano Performance from the University of SouthernCalifornia in Los Angeles, where he studied with John Perry.Significant pre-college studies include work with BostonUniversity professor Maria Clodes.

Dr. Michael Alcorn is a psychiatrist who specializes in the treatment of adults, children, and adolescents. He graduated from the University of Southern California School of Medicine in 2004, completed his Adult Psychiatry residency training at UC-San Francisco-Fresno in 2008, and then returned to complete his

child/adolescent psychiatric fellowship training at the University of Southern California in 2010.  He earned multiple honors through his educational

process dating back to 1996, including being named the Psychiatry Resident of the year in his residency training program. He holds both dual licensures in Alaska and California. Dr. Alcorn worked in one of the busiest

psychiatric emergency departments in the nation while training in Los Angeles County. He served as a psychiatrist for the United States Air Force for 5 years after completion of his training. He has spent the last 10 years

working in a variety of inpatient settings in Anchorage including performing consultation work at AK Regional Hospital. His unique military background allowed him to assist with the opening of the Chris Kyle Patriots Hospital

where he has also served as the primary psychiatrist for the last 10 years. Dr. Alcorn has served our community by providing psychiatric services for children and adolescents in both acute and residential settings in Anchorage and Palmer. Dr. Alcorn is also actively involved in the

substance abuse community, serving as the medical director for Alaska Addiction and Rehabilitative Services at Point McKenzie.Dr. Alcorn is not only a doctor but also a dedicated and experienced educator. He has proudly assisted the next generation of therapists and mental

health providers as a teacher and a presenter. He continues to supervise nurse practitioners, physician assistants, child psychiatry fellows, and medical students.

Elaine Border, LPC, LPC-S, is the

founder and CEO of both Border

Counseling Services and Border

Community Resources in Anchorage.

A licensed professional counselor and

clinical supervisor, Elaine brings over

14 years of experience in trauma-informed care, parent education, and community mental health.

Since 2018, she has been teaching Parenting with Love and Logic—a program she offers not only to her clients but also to the broader community.

Elaine has successfully trained other facilitators in the Love and Logic approach and currently serves as a public speaker and advocate for healthy parenting and effective family communication.  In addition to her clinical and community work,  Elaine is actively involved in public service. She serves on the board of AKLEEA and on the State of

Alaska LPC Licensing Board, where she helps shape the standards and practices guiding the counseling profession statewide.

Through her leadership and service, Elaine is passionate about helping families heal, connect, and thrive using practical, compassionate, and

research-based strategies.
